Without a doubt, this past year has been incredibly tough for so many, and most are happy to say farewell to 2021…we will soon get the chance to do so, as a new year rolls in in just a few days. As we bid adieu to 2021, I encourage you to ponder the question, “Am I closer to the Lord today than I was as the New Year came in last year?” A poignant question that I ask of myself each year as I am certain many of you have done. The answer can sometimes be even more poignant -and even heartbreaking if we haven’t spent our time wisely and attempted to walk in step with the Spirit through our days past. Though I could ramble on for pages and pages here encouraging you in specific areas, my simple encouragement is the same today as it was my first sermon of January 2021, ” IF we walk with the Lord and attempt to please HIM, rather than indulge in what the flesh calls for and what we “think we deserve”, IF we will strive to do life HIS way rather than ours the very best is yet to come. Though it has been disheartening to see the conflict, pain, and destruction that has come from those who have succumbed to the enemy as has so often been the case in our world over the past year, we must not lose heart and we must continue on doing OUR part to make this world a better place by being obedient to The One who always knows best and always has our best interest at heart. So as we bid farewell to 2021, I encourage you to; make right any wrongs that you are guilty of while there is still time, seek opportunities to end the year in love and truth, and determine in your heart even now to enter 2022 walking hand in hand with the only one who can get you through the year to come with true joy… May you all have a truly Happy New Year in JESUS !
Colossians 1:10-12 “…walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness;Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.”
